More fear than harm. Thursday November 7, 2024, the Paris firefighters intervened urgently at the nursery and primary school Belzunce in the 10th arrondissement of the capital, due to the accidental mercury spill, learned actu with the BSPP.

No injuries to report

As the chemical spread to the ground, it formed small beads. Once on site, the rescuers carried out a total evacuation of the establishment, i.e. 230 children and adults. No poisoning has been reported, but one person experienced vagal discomfort, unrelated to the toxic product, the firefighters said.

A major device was deployed to secure the premises. According to franceinfoa private company then took over to verify again that no child had been contaminated. They were finally able go home. The reasons for this accident are currently unknown.
