Thursday, November 7, 2024, Frédéric Souillot, general secretary of the Force Ouvrière (FO) confederation, chaired the general committee of the Force Ouvrière unions of Indre-et-Loire, which was held at the union house, in Saint-Avertin.
This committee launched the campaign for the TPE (very small businesses) elections from November 25 to December 9 and for the Chambers of Agriculture in January 2025.
More than 400 activists were present, 25 unionists took the floor to take stock of all the department's sectors of activity: not a single one is satisfactory.
Michelin Joué and SKF at the center of the debates
Large companies were also on the agenda such as Michelin Joué, which went from 4,500 employees in 1968 to 535 today, which risks being impacted by the closure of the Cholet factory, of which it is a subcontractor; SKF which is split into two separate companies, Recipharm Monts whose takeover project by Astrea should materialize in December, and Auchan whose social plan is national.
Frédéric Souillot has only one policy, union, and as such fights to counter the austerity budget and for the repeal of the pension reform, in order to better distribute wealth, protect the achievements of Security social and that everyone can live properly.
FO will participate with several other associations, on November 11, at 11 a.m., Place Jean-Jaurès in Tours, in the Day for Peace and Against War.
