Agricultural anger is materializing again, but for the moment, it remains rather calm. Several unions have announced mobilizations in the department.

Funeral wake for agriculture

Rural Coordination was already in action yesterday evening. Against Mercosur, and to act “the death of agriculture”a gathering of around forty people took place in front of the Tulle Prefecture in the evening. They organized a symbolic wake, with chrysanthemums and candles.

Same type of action announced this morning but for MODEF. The movement calls for a rally in Tulle at 10 a.m. in front of the Prefecture, mainly to challenge free trade treaties and Mercosur. Coffins will be placed in front of the gates of the Prefecture with the slogan “Death of Family Farming”.

Compensation law

In Corrèze, JA and FDSEA warn, “tractors, shredders, plows & seeders will be at work” this morning from 11 a.m. in Saint-Pantaléon-de-Larche at a place called Les Roches Basses. An action motivated by the harmful impact of the compensation law. According to agricultural unions, “it penalizes local agriculture and the measures imposed do not make it possible to respond to the real challenges of preserving the territory and supporting the viability of farms.”
