The CCI Gard, in collaboration with the Gard department and the Occitanie region, is organizing the 31st edition of the Miam show from November 15 to 18. The Alès Agglomération Exhibition Center will take on a Cuban feel for the occasion.
Since its creation, the Miam show has climbed the ranks and established itself as an unmissable autumn event in Alès, with its promotion of products and professionals. For its 31st edition this year, Cuba will be represented, with the presence of starred chef Niño Torres from the restaurant “Likoké” in Les Vans (Ardèche). The latter will therefore succeed the chef of “Saint-Hilaire” Sébastien Rath as godfather of the show.
The latter also says he is very moved to have been able to follow Miam at different times in his life, as a child, as a young teenager, as an exhibitor and then as a sponsor. “Like Sébastien, I was a child when I began to discover the show. It is probably not by chance that I have my current delegations today”evokes Aurélie Génolher, regional advisor.
No less than 146 exhibitors, 20% of which are new, will fill this large Méjannes-les-Alès Exhibition Center, which will attempt to beat the latest attendance record dating from last year with 22,580 visitors. “This show represents real economic support for the region. The average basket for families is 60 euros per person when they go to Miam”says the president of the CCI Gard, Éric Giraudier.
This show allows you to discover the latest economic trends and tips from chefs to reproduce at home, with exceptional products to enhance everyday dishes. This year around twenty chefs will speak for four days in the space called “Les salons du Miam”. The Gard department with its label “Le Gard, Militant du Goût”, Alès Agglomération, the “Bienvenue à la Ferme” network, the Purple Campus and the Métro France and Aymard groups support the initiative with their partnership.
In the Cuban village, you can find salsa dance demonstrations (with the “Miguel de Cuba” association), musical entertainment, an exhibition of American cars (with the California Mustang association located in Milhaud) and many others stands to taste or take home souvenirs.
“The Young Farmers will also be present to sell and taste their wine by the glass. With the Wheel of Luck, you can win one of the 800 prizes at stake”explains Colette Ruegger, president of the Alesian delegation of the CCI Gard. A trip to Cuba will be won through an on-site raffle. The lucky winner will win a 9-day/7-night stay for two people, with many surprises including salsa lessons.
