An unusual face-to-face. This Wednesday morning, a 52-year-old hunter who was taking part in a hunting trip on the greenway between Monthermé and Devils (Ardennes), found himself face to face with a wild boar. The latter charged the hunter who was injured in the back of the left thigh, as indicated by our colleagues from Bleu.

Supported by the Smur (Mobile Emergency and Resuscitation Service) and transported to the Charleville-Mézières hospital center, the victim, although used to hunting in the Ardennes, had a real scare. These days are no longer in danger today.

Five firefighters involved

During the charge, the wild boar caused a deep wound in the fifty-year-old's left thigh. Five firefighters intervened to transport the victim who could no longer walk.

The man was treated at Manchester hospital in Charleville-Mézières. The wound was large, but had not affected any arteries, so there was no life risk to fear. However, the victim will no longer be able to participate in the hunt for several months, while he recovers from his injuries.
