Friday November 8, at 6 p.m. in the village hall, the actors of La Forêt d'Art contemporain are organizing an information meeting. This “assembly”, open to all, aims to present the functioning, the action – already for around fifteen years – and the projects of the association (1).
Off the beaten track
To date, 30 works of art, varying in style and inspiration, have been disseminated, mainly in the territory of the Landes de Gascogne Regional Natural Park. From the divinity Hello Apollo bathing its foundation in the waters of Luxey to the moucharabieh-style wooden lace of the chapel of Bouricos, through the mark of safety of Garbatchet on the borders of Brocas-les-Forges and Garein, or even by the “Five-legged Mule” by Sore, these works question, make people talk and lead us to wander through often unknown places, made of wild calm and full of poetry, if not the strange.
Thus, little by little, a regional collection was built up, off the beaten track and museums. It is a form of land use planning. A particular town welcomes an artist, events and activities (conferences, visits, festive moments) are offered around his work. What could possibly be done in Pissos? Proposals, remarks and observations will undoubtedly arise during this meeting.
