The headliners have been coming one after the other since the start of the school year at Budokan Sartilly-Baie-Bocage. After Laurence Belrhiti in September then Lucas Jeannot in October, the young Sartillais karate club (South Manche) welcomes Serge Chouraqui, a true living legend of the discipline.

European and world champion

Aged 75, the journey of the 9th Dan black belt speaks for itself. Member of the French European champion team in 1971 then of the French world champion team in 1972, he was subsequently technical director of the French Karate Federation and trained the French women's kata and combat teams. He was also a technical judge at world level. Knight of the Legion of Honor in 2015, he is also a national knight of the order of merit and a youth and sports gold medalist.

“Head instructor of the SIK Daguerre club in , Serge Chouraqui has trained numerous karate champions,” says Pascal Alamgarom, coach of Budokan Sartilly-Baie-Bocage. It embodies the great tradition of transmitting high-level karate, from generation to generation. It is therefore an honor for our club and its members to welcome him to the dojo of the sports complex for an internship which promises to be exceptional.”
