The Lannion Canoe-Kayak once again stood out brilliantly on the national scene last week. During the French youth championshipsin Vaires-sur-Marne (77), Léna Quémerais notably won four medals, including three titles and a silver medal.
A leading position
Gold in kayak, kayak-cross and combined (canoe-kayak): the young champion (18 years old) achieved “a very good championship and once again demonstrates her position as French leader of his age category in whitewater disciplines,” summarizes his dad Philippe.
Her competition was almost perfect, and the Trégorroise took second place in a canoe. To round off this last season in style among the U18s, Léna Quémerais will be present at the Étoiles du Sport, in Tignes, at the end of November, a flagship event of high-level French sport, at the invitation of the Breton Olympic champion Nicolas Gestin.
Martin Cornu “rather disappointed”
His Lannionnais sidekick, Martin Hornemerges “rather disappointed” with this deadline, confides Philippe Quémerais. After a stratospheric summer (8 medals in total at the World and European Championships, including five gold), he had to settle for bronze in canoeing and kayaking, and silver in combined.
Two other Lannionnais obtained a top 15 : Liam Le Touze (12e) and Kim Agnimo (15e) in kayak.
