It's starting to do well“. Francis Boussion, the mayor of Courdemanche is tired. Last weekend, on the night of November 2 to 3, the copper cables of four street lamps were stolen. Information from the Petit Courier, the echo of the Vallée du Loir which Bleu Maine has confirmed. This is the fourth theft in the southern commune since October.I've already had six streetlights hit. Each time, you have to file a complaint with the police. We're going to have to do rounds. I've had it up to here. If this continues, we will install surveillance cameras. It bothers me, but we're going to talk about it at the city council this Thursday“.

Damage of 16,000 euros

If the harm “is not huge“in absolute terms, it is nevertheless important in terms of the budget of a small town,” explains the councilor: “It cost us almost 10,000 euros. With this new flight, we will arrive at 16,000 euros. We have no room for maneuver. This will force me to postpone work. I think we won't be able to repair the street lights before 2025“. Another fear of the mayor of Courdemanche: that his town will no longer be covered by insurance if these thefts become too frequent.
