On two occasions, once at the wheel of his car, then a second time at the controls of his two-wheeler, a road user tested positive for cocaine during the summer in Brive.

“I shouldn’t have gotten behind the wheel those days.” By his own admission, the defendant, a 23-year-old man, did not make the best decisions on June 4 and August 12. This Tuesday, November 5, he had to answer, before the criminal court, for refusing to comply, driving under the influence of an alcoholic state and under the influence of narcotics, and lack of insurance.

He flees on the A20

In June, the Brive police attempted to carry out a check on his Twingo in the western area of ​​Brive. But the driver, who had consumed cocaine, pastis and red wine, did not stop. “They made gestures, but I was not in a position to understand. Immediately afterwards, I got onto the A20. I did not see any flashing lights behind me”, defended the mis involved, suffering from an addiction to white powder.

On the highway towards , the driver took an exit ramp just after overtaking a truck. But the maneuver will be the cause of his accident. A few moments later, the police found his vehicle stopped, on the emergency lane. Positive for the saliva test and the breathalyzer, with a level of 1.06 grams of alcohol in the blood, he was arrested.

A second time positive for cocaine

History repeated itself on August 12. This time, the young man, at the controls of a two-wheeler, took care to stop when a police officer signaled him to pull over to the side of the road. On the other hand, a new saliva test revealed recent cocaine use. Additionally, his vehicle was not insured. “I had just made repairs, but I had not taken the necessary steps,” explains the man who, despite substitution treatment, could not resist the call of cocaine.

The one who wore a hoodie stamped “The Fugitive”, was sentenced for his refusal to comply and his driving under drugs and without insurance, to six months in prison with a probationary suspension. He will have to receive treatment, work, and pay his fine. The court also ordered the cancellation of his driving license, which he will not be able to retake for a month.
