Departmental 3 was cut off to traffic around 8:15 a.m. on Tuesday, November 5. An accident occurred between two vehicles on the section of road between Liercourt and Fontaine-sur-Somme. Some motorists were unable to continue on their way while emergency services intervened.
Open investigation by the gendarmes
Significant emergency resources were mobilized in the area: firefighters, ambulance and gendarmerie went to the site.
According to initial information, the shock was violent. Two motorists were treated by emergency services: a motorist, aged 21, was transported to the Abbeville hospital center. The other driver, 41 years old, was in cardiorespiratory arrest. Despite the intervention of emergency services, he could not be saved. The weather conditions were not very good in Abbeville on Tuesday morning, notably with some patches of fog.
