Launched on October 21 for a duration of three weeks, the Huant cliff security project is expected to end on November 8.
The final objective of this work is to secure the RD119, in Clusesa road overlooked by a cliff at the origin of numerous rock falls. As such, protective structures are installed to intercept the blocks before they reach the roadway.
Cliff of Huant in Cluses: security work in two phases
The security work on the RD119 is divided into two sections. The first, which is in progress, consists of felling of trees threatening the road networkclearing and purging existing structures and restoring them.
The second tranche is planned for 2025 and will include replacement of aging structures by new protections to current standards.
The total cost of the project, i.e. the two sections, amounts to 900,000 euros 100% financed by the Haute-Savoie departmental council.
The work is carried out under road closed to traffic. A diversion is put in place by the RD4 via Scionzier, Marnaz and Le Reposoir to join the municipalities of Nancy-Sur-Cluses and Cluses.
