According to a National Education studythe fear of going to school because of one or more students concerns 5% of schoolchildren from CE2 to CM2, 2% of middle school students and 2% of high school students. At all levels, almost 5% of students say they do not have any friends in their school.

Like the Department of Seine-et-, the Val de Seine urban community relied on this study to set up an action program dedicated to school bullyingin primary schools and colleges in its territory. This program, which is part of the national day against school bullying scheduled for November 7, takes place from November 4 to 10 with the support of the Educational Success Bus. The objective is to raise awareness among students to this phenomenon, how to detect it and how to act, whether you are a victim or a witness.

Educational booklets distributed

These activities take the form of workshops, forum theatervideos and exchanges. They allow students to detect situations of harassment, to develop their ability to better fight against them, to know how to react and to help a friend who is a victim.

Several speakers will host this awareness week (Les Francas association, Bagan Bagan company and Youth Information Center), as well as the intercommunal police. Its manager will discuss in particular the risks and penalties incurred and the means of dealing with harassment based on the broadcast of a video.

Educational booklets entitled “No to school bullying” will be distributed in schools, social centers, town halls and partners linked to childhood and parenting. They are also available on the Melun Val de Seine website (www.melunvaldeseine.fr). In 2023, these actions made it possible to raise awareness among more than 1,000 CM1 and CM2 students enrolled in 12 schools in the area.
