Every day, “DL” highlights a personality whose birthday it is and who takes stock of their personal activity, their association, their company or their sports club. Today, “DL” wishes a happy birthday to Yann Darbilly, director of the Odetec company. He celebrated his 46th birthday on November 4.
What is the sector of activity of the Odetec company?
It's a company that we co-founded in Boulazac 17 years ago with a friend. We created it in my garage and since then we have continued to grow. We do building engineering and public building design. We are the strong arm of the architect. Today we have 65 employees, including 35 in Périgord. We also recently had an agency in Brive, Agen, Bordeaux and Paris.
What are Odetec’s ambitions in the future?
We have been a mission-driven company for over a year. We want to be able to change this world a little and help reduce the effects of global warming. We are trying to decarbonize and we aim to become experts in sustainable construction and restructuring in 2035.
On which projects have you worked in Dordogne?
We did the four gymnasiums around Périgueux, the headquarters of Grand Périgueux, Francheville. Currently we are working on André-Boissière and the renovation of Mondoux housing, among others. We try to be active players in the region because public authorities have trusted us from the start.
What can we wish you for your birthday?
To succeed in having a balanced life between family, sport and work.
