Monday November 4, 2024, emergency services intervened in the territory of the commune of Le Plan (Haute-Garonne), south of Toulouse, for a flammable gas leak.

It was around 2 p.m. when firefighters entered a home from which “a strong smell of gas” was emanating.

An unconscious man, “in absolute emergency”

They then proceeded to rescue a 52-year-old man, “unconscious, and in absolute emergency”, specifies SDIS 31 at Toulouse news.

After carrying out explosimetry readings, the firefighters noted that the concentration of gas in this house presented a significant risk of explosion.

Nine homes evacuated

Nine homes were evacuated. A security perimeter has been set up.

“Hydraulic ventilation was carried out using a hydraulic fan until the readings taken by the explosimeter were zero again,” explained the firefighters.
