Having just graduated, Brice and Anaïs decided to spend their first year of practice traveling across France to replace their colleagues in the medical deserts.
Brice and Anaïs have their own way of fighting against medical deserts. These young, recently graduated doctors have decided to take a tour of France's small towns in a van. On the roads since the start of the year, the couple has already covered 20,000 kilometers.
“There is the flavor of travel, of exploration and the professional part, helping people during the period when we replace our colleagues”explains Brice, physiotherapist. Brice and his partner stop in Pomarez, a small town in the Landes where they will replace the local physiotherapist. The latter jumped at the opportunity of the couple's visit “to breathe a little for 15 days”.
Between each replacement of around two weeks, Brice and Anaïs allow themselves a week of freedom. Their goal? Change the image of these communities to attract other caregivers. An unforgettable first year of activity to start their career.
Sometimes, it is also the mayors who take the lead in attracting doctors. Housing, video clip… Municipalities are competing with each other for ideas to recruit their future caregiver.
