The department of Haute-Savoie continues its fight against violence against women.
This Monday, November 25, on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, the Departmental Council officially launched its Departmental Observatory on Violence Against Women.
This observatory will make it possible to observe the extent of violence in Haute-Savoie, to identify existing resources which make it possible to improve the care and protection of victims, to coordinate a departmental public policy against sexist and sexual violence and to carry out prevention actions among the inhabitants of the department.
With this new body, the department continues its action in favor of victims.
It already has a plan to prevent and combat this violence, it has purchased 5 housing units to shelter victims and their children and has made 11 social housing units available to them.
The Departmental Council also finances an emergency telephone call dedicated to professionals and the listening and reception desk within hospital centers.
Finally, prevention actions are carried out among middle school students.
