DuoDay offers people with disabilities a day of professional immersion. The departmental council is involved.
The DuoDay is a national operation organized by the ALGEEI (Secular Association for the Management of Education and Integration Establishments), in collaboration with the Ministry of Labor, Health and Solidarity, part of the Week European Union for the employment of disabled people. The 2024 edition will take place on November 21.
Concretely, this involves companies, communities or associations offering people with disabilities a day of training in pairs with an employee.
Employment, a vector of inclusion
This professional immersion day allows trainees to discover a profession in line with their professional integration project. On the employer's side, it is an opening on the issue of disability in the workplace, aiming to overcome preconceived ideas and encourage the development of a more inclusive social policy.
For the second year in a row, the Department will participate in DuoDay by offering thirteen internships within its directorates: three in the autonomy directorate, reception agent at the Departmental Autonomy House, agent the electronic management of documents, instruction and monitoring of administrative files of the Departmental House for Disabled People; one in the educational and cultural development department, administrative monitoring of files; one in the departmental heritage buildings department, responsible for building operations; one in the social solidarity department, secretariat and administrative management; one in the childhood and family department, disability resources center agent/evaluator; five at the direction of territories, integration and proximity, agent of the Departmental House of Solidarity of Mende, agent of the Departmental House of Solidarity of Florac, agent of the Departmental House of Solidarity of Langogne, agent of the Departmental House of Solidarity of Marvejols, agent of the Departmental House of Solidarity of Saint-Chély-d'Apcher and one in the direction of communication, logistics and events, responsible (e) communication.

Lozère is recognized for its tradition of welcoming people with disabilities, forged by the psychiatrist François-Tosquelles, precursor of institutional psychotherapy and Father Lucien Oziol, founder of Clos du Nid.
Inclusion through employment, a challenge
If the disability sector is the region's largest employer with 2,800 people, 29 medico-social establishments and 2,100 employees, Lozère must face new challenges linked to deinstitutionalization. In this context, inclusion through employment is one of the challenges that local businesses and communities will have to meet.
