Sad news for the Jura commune of Blye, 173 inhabitants. The mayor, Thierry Bailly, died on Saturday November 2. The elected official died during a logging accident in one of the town's forests. His involvement in municipal life was recognized.
“He is a very discreet person, he did not speak without saying anything, he knew his files, he applied himself“, specifies Sandrine Gauthier-Pacoud, mayor of the neighboring commune of Mesnois and president of the association of mayors of Jura. The elected official had several development projects for his commune such as securing the crossing of the village.
“The emotion is grandeit's a shock immense. Cit's sudden, we're not prepared“, specifies Sandrine Gauthier-Pacoud. The deputy for the 1st constituency of Jura, Danielle Brulebois (Together for the Republic), paid tribute to Thierry Bailly on her social networks. She salutes “a man respectful of others and attentive to everyone, with unfailing availability and commitment“.
Thierry Bailly was 63 years old, a former France Telecom employee and father of a family. A death notice will be published after the approval of the deceased's relatives.
