In Rillieux-la-Pape, two buses were set on fire on Friday November 1 and residents remain in shock at this new urban violence. The day before, three minors were arrested by the police.
Carcasses still smoking this Saturday, November 2 in the morning at the foot of the buildings, two completely charred buses, after another night marked by violence in Rillieux-la-Pape in the Rhône. It is 9 p.m., in a district of the city, around twenty individuals with masked faces are blocking two buses in circulation. Once the passengers had left, the young people poured gasoline into the vehicles before setting them on fire.
After the fire spread near an apartment building, all residents were evacuated. Among them, a still shocked mother testifies: “To protect the children, I closed the shutters and windows. Afterwards, the police and emergency services knocked on the door to tell us to get out because of the fire”she says. This is the second consecutive evening of urban violence in the neighborhood where three minors were arrested.
