The former mayor of Poissy hopes to cause “a real electric shock in this country”.
Macronist MP Karl Olive pleaded on Sunday November 3 for sending soldiers to certain neighborhoods affected by drug trafficking in order to cause “a real electric shock in this country”.
“I think we should also test the mix between the national police, the municipal police and the military, to send a real electric shock to this country when there are such tragedies,” declared the elected official from Yvelines on Radio J.
“We could very well test” this measure “in political districts of the city, for example in Marseille but why not also in Poitiers”, where a 15-year-old teenager died on Saturday after a shooting that occurred on Thursday evening.
“Zero tolerance”
“There would be a real message sent: zero tolerance,” insisted Karl Olive, for whom the military, who are “not there to make up the numbers”, must “be able to flush out weapons stashes” for example.
“Why wouldn't we try? At some point, the traffickers don't respect us. They ruin the lives of the vast majority of French people who simply want to live well together. We have no gifts to give these people – there,” he insisted.
