A 19-year-old man died in Rennes this Saturday, November 2. Around 4:30 p.m., this young man received three stab wounds, including one to the chest. The events occurred at the footbridge located on Allée des Chesnais, which leads from Pontchaillou hospital to the Anatole France metro station.
The events allegedly began in a nearby building lobby, where the victim was stabbed. He then went out onto the gangway, where he collapsed. The young man is then taken by his relatives to hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The circumstances of this case are still to be determined. The gateway is known by the police as a deal point for several years. According to the Rennes prosecutor, there is currently no “no link with a deal point” at this stage of the investigation.
Second man stabbed three hours later
A few hours later, around 7 p.m., a second man was stabbed multiple times in another neighborhood, rue Nantaise, a few meters from Place de Bretagne. Three individuals are on the run according to a police source. A man appeared at the police station, presenting himself as the author of the stabbings.
This death and this attack occur the day after the visit of the Minister of the Interior, Bruno Retailleau, in the Maurepas district, after several shootings in recent weekslinked to drug trafficking.
