Among the Lamberts, the taste foragriculture is transmitted from five generationsfrom father to son… and to daughter.

Indeed, at 21 ansÉloïse Lambert is preparing to resumefamily farmlocated in Fours-en-Vexin, in Vexin-sur-Epte (Eure). “I hope to be able to become a farm manager in 2025. My father will be an employee until he can leave for retirement“, explains the young woman.

Representing the fifth generation, the farmer has brought a breath of fresh air to the farm by launching her own brand of lentils grown on site, La P'tite ferme d'Éloïse.

A name that resonates withfamily heirloom :

“Before moving here, my family had a farm near the church of Fours-en-Vexin which at the time was called La Grande Ferme. I wanted to give a little nod to this area. »

“Manage everything from A to Z”

After studying at the Chambray agricultural high school, in Mesnils-sur-Iton, and a BTS in , Éloïse Lambert returned to work with her father.

Very social and chatty, the young woman was looking for a way to get started in profession in line with his personality:

“It’s a somewhat solitary job. We can sometimes feel isolated. I like to talk and exchange. So I looked for different ways to do farming. I thought about doing direct sales or welcoming the public but it is very time-consuming. »

In 2023, the young woman decided to create her own brand of farm productsespecially lentils.

“I can manage everything from A to Z, from production to sales. On the other hand, I do not sell to individuals but to restaurants, caterers and businesses. »

“A desire to consume local”

She then began to cultivate lentils on an area of ​​approximately 5 hectares. At the same time, it is developing its brand by creating its logo and seeking suppliers for packaging that respect the environment.environment.

She takes care of communication, particularly on social networks. A know-how that she also shares within the festival committee of her village since she is its secretary.

To embark on her project, she can count on the support of her father, Antoine Lambert:

“More and more young people are embarking on a sideline activity within the family farm because starting out on your own is quite costly financially. It's a project that we built together. I encouraged her to get started because it’s the right time. Indeed, there is a desire to consume more locally, particularly via the Egalim law. »

Fewer phytosanitary products

The first year not having been very successful, the father and daughter took the opportunity to consolidate the brand.

Today, the young woman even offers prepared lentils, cooked by Les Petites l'Ouches, a reintegration company based in Bernay.

Ultimately, she would like to extend the brand to different products. “It’s a bigger job but I know why I’m doing this. »

In parallel with the development of the brand, Éloise continues to cultivate wheat, barley, oats and corn on family land in integrated agriculture.

“This means that we reduce inputs as much as possible using agronomic techniques. Today, we have reduced our use of phytosanitary products“, welcomes Antoine Lambert.
