Louis Chedid: “Having a house in Vaucluse, for me, is a madeleine”

Between Louis Chedid and the Provenceit's a long love story. This relationship began in his youth, offering the young Parisian boy an incomparable feeling of freedom. “I associated the south of with the good life,” he said. Today, the father of singer M, who lives in during the winter, is happy to return to the South in the summer to rediscover the scents of his sunny youth.

His childhood vacations in Bouc-Bel-Air

Living in Paris since the age of 3, Louis Chedid has always had a very strong link with the small village of Bouc-Bel-Air in Bouches-du-Rhône, where his parents owned a small vacation home. Every summer, the Chedid family escaped from Parisian life to take refuge in this village, giving Louis a well-deserved break away from school, where he did not excel: “As I had a very average education, it was truly paradise for me.” His days were filled with games of pétanque, bike rides and games with his friends. Later, he even immortalized this place dear to his heart by giving its name to his fourteenth album Boucbelairhis most autobiographical work.

A new life in

After the sale of the family home in Bouc-Bel-Air, Louis Chedid felt a lack for a long time.My parents sold this house when I was twelve and it's true that it's a regret.” It was during an impromptu trip that he discovered the Luberon. This visit to Lourmarin was love at first sight for him. Seduced by the charm of the place, he decided to settle there. Today, he finds the peaceful atmosphere of his memories in Vaucluse.

The Luberon brings back childhood memories, which are for me my best memories.

After a tour with Yvan Cassar, Louis Chedid returns on November 15, 2024 with his 18th album dreamer dreamer. From the end of November 2024, it begins a new tour of six months across France, in partnership with France Bleu.
