Enjoy a delicious brunch
It is one of those places where you are happy to sit down. Kitchen, one of the restaurants at the Madame Rêve hotel, is one of them. Located rue du Louvre, the establishment offers, in a cozy and cozy atmosphere, a pantagruelian brunch. On the menu? Hot drinks and juices accompany an all-you-can-eat buffet with plenty of garnishes. On the savory side, the choice is gargantuan: assortment of cheeses and cold meats, smoked salmon, avocado… as well as the eternal stars of any self-respecting brunch: scrambled or boiled eggs, bacon and sausages… For those with a sweet tooth, same observation: we focus on waffles, pancakes, artisanal breads and other ultra-gourmet pastries. But in addition to this tempting offer, the brunch is complemented by a dish to choose from the menu (plain eggs Benedict, bacon or smoked salmon, small roast sea bass fillet, confit beef parmentier with vegetables and autumn truffle Rigatoni – supplement €5) and a crepe (nutella, caramel, jam and whipped cream) to finish with a touch of sweetness.

Do you know the recipe for making a zombie? First concoct a poison made from toxic foufou fish (or “fugu” in Japan) and place it in the clothing of the target person. Once paralyzed and declared dead, she will be buried. Dig it up the next night: you get a glassy-eyed slave, condemned to obey. Long before the cannibalistic dead of American cinema, the “Zombis” exhibition goes back to the roots of the living dead of Haiti, between West African voodoo, Catholic religion and traumatic memory of slavery – of which the zombie is a nightmarish incarnation. The route, rapid, winds in the darkness, between ethnology and wonder, with needle-pricked dolls and ritual statues, “real” stories of modern zombies, sumptuous ceremonial costumes and vernacular works, such as this embroidered tapestry of pearls, homage to Maman Brigitte, who protects the tombstones with her husband Baron Samedi. A seasonal pilgrimage, macabre and captivating.
“Zombies. Death is not an end? » at the Quai-Branly museum, Paris 7e. Until February 16, 2025. More information and reservations here.
