The weekend was eventful in the Neuchâtel Mountains. After the discovery of three lifeless bodies on Friday, the rest of the weekend was also eventful.

During the night from Saturday to Sunday, a 47-year-old man had an altercation in a public establishment in La Chaux-de-Fonds. The individual then went to his apartment to seize firearms. Coming out of his home, he fired at least two shots into the air in the street near his home. Following these events, a relative managed to convince him to give up going to town. The individual then returned to the relative’s home.

Informed, the Neuchâtel police set up a significant closure system in this district. After negotiations, the individual surrendered without resistance and was able to be arrested. Two firearms were seized. The alleged perpetrator tested positive for alcohol during his arrest. He was placed in police custody for the purposes of the investigation and will be the subject of a report to the Public Prosecutor's Office.

This event required the engagement of five gendarmerie patrols, specialists from the intervention group, in collaboration with the Friborg cantonal police, negotiators from the judicial police, as well as ambulance crews from the SISMN and a SMUR doctor.

Tensions in Locle

Another news item in Le Locle. Following a verbal altercation between two neighbors, one of them displayed a weapon early Sunday afternoon. A police system was put in place and after negotiations, the individual surrendered without opposition. He was arrested and will be the subject of a report to the Public Prosecutor's Office. In the end, it turned out that his gun was fake. /comm-adju
