The Tour de France 2025 route, for men and women, is revealed late this Tuesday morning at 11 a.m. at the Palais des Congrès in Paris. On the men's tour, there is what we already know: the peloton will set off from Lille on July 5 for an arrival on the Champs-Elysées on July 27. Between the two, where will the runners go? Every year, the big game is to find the chosen cities before the time, and to break the secrecy surrounding this route. Here is the probable map of the Tour de France 2025 in the Alps.
Savoie better off than in 2024
Last year, Savoie was entitled to a brief foray in the first week and in Maurienne, with the ascent of Galibier. Next summer, the Savoyard massifs should share the final bouquet, two days before arrival in Paris. On July 24 and 25, cycling fans will be spoiled for choice when it comes to choosing which pass to stop at: runners will crisscross the Maurienne, Beaufortain and Tarentaise. Beyond a magnificent spectacle, these two stages could cause quite an upheaval in the final ranking. Haute-Savoie, on the other hand, which last year did not see the men's Tour but had received the women at Grand-Bornandwill not be on the route this year.
Courchevel and the Col de la Loze, July 24
According to our information, on Thursday July 24, for the 18th stage coming from the town of Vif near Grenoble, the peloton will join Courchevel… via the legendary Col de la Loze. Discovered by the professional peloton in 2020 after the last 7 km of this mountain path were paved from the Méribel altiport, the Col de la Loze climbed once again in 2023, is establishing itself as one of the giants essential and one of the hardest in the Tour de France. If the supposed route is confirmed, before hitting the Col de la Loze and reaching Courchevel, the runners will have already had to swallow the Cols du Glandon then de la Madeleine.
Albertville-La Plagne, July 25
Still according to our information, Albertville will be the start town of the 19th stage on Friday July 25, and La Plagne, the finish town. This stage promises a long and beautiful ride in Beaufortain via the Col de la Forclaz de Queige (not to be confused with that of Bauges above Annecy), before the climb to Bisanne, 18 km from Villard-sur-Doron , then the Col du Pré and the Cormet de Roselend, a regular on the tour already climbed 14 times, before moving towards the Tarentaise valley. Then head to La Plagne for a fifth arrival at the top of this exceptional climb of 21 km 400 at almost 7% average from Aime.
The Women's Tour left Brittany on July 26 and ended on August 5 after 9 stages, one more than in 2024.
