A photovoltaic field should see the light of day in the town of Artix (Ariège), exactly in Pech de Loubens. The Dispatch took stock of the project led by the company Pierreval Energie (PVE). The French real estate player will be accompanied by a cattle breeder from Artix who will let his cows graze under the panels.

The project is immense: 12 hectares for exactly 18,934 photovoltaic panels present on the site. The latter should not begin immediately, however, since the company Pierreval Energie plans to submit the building permit in December 2025. The permit will then have to be “purged” of all appeals before beginning the eight months of work. from May 2028.

58,735 euros in local taxes for public authorities

Pierreval already pays rent of around 40,000 euros per year. It will therefore be necessary to add 58,735 euros of local taxes distributed between the Pays de Foix Varilhes community of communes and the department.

To finance the project, PVE announced, “90% of the bank debt and 10% of the company's equity”. Concerning equity, crowdfunding could be set up. In the meantime, the cattle breeder's cows will remain in Artix.
