It was 7:53 a.m. this Monday, October 28, at the crossroads of the RD918 between Crulai and L'Aigle (Orne) and the RD28, route des Aspres. An unlicensed vehicle and a utility vehicle with a tipper collided. At the time of the accident, visibility was very reduced by the fog.
Ten firefighters mobilized
The driver of the unlicensed vehicle died instantly. The truck driver was evacuated in shock by the emergency services to the L'Aigle hospital center. Ten firefighters from the L'Aigle rescue center were mobilized, as well as the L'Aigle gendarmes. The intersection was secured during operations by the departmental roads service.
The causes currently being investigated
The causes of the accident are currently being investigated. The place is not known for being accident-prone, unlike the La Chapelle-Viel road intersection where there have already been several collisions, including a fatal accident involving elderly people.
