The general meeting of the SCAC, Saint-Céré Athlétisme Club, was held on Saturday October 12 in Belmont-Bretenoux. All the members of the office resigned because it is an Olympic year. Following which the general assembly made it possible to define a new team. Here is the composition of the new elected office: other volunteer members complete the office to fill vacant positions: Céline Barrie for management of the club’s website; Jean Archassal, throwing and anti-doping judge; Aurélien Lacan for the logistics part; Marion Picaud and Laëtitia Bonafé in charge of communications; Pascal Charpentier in support of license registration and training; and Claude Laborie in support of coach Daniel Mack.
The SCAC club’s projects for the new 2024-2025 season, in addition to popularizing athletic health running on Wednesday and Friday evenings, are multiple with this strong desire to promote this activity which, as a sport, dates back to 776 BC. First of all, the club aims to participate in numerous competitions (trail, non-stadium races and road races) organized in the department and beyond. A schedule has been distributed to all athletes who can position themselves freely on these according to their own objectives.
Then, the club plans to organize in its entirety under the aegis of the FFA in Saint-Laurent-les-Tours, the departmental cross country scheduled for January 19, 2025 and the departmental middle distance track championships scheduled for June 2025.
Finally, it is a matter of prioritizing sharing and group cohesion through development courses adapted to the needs of athletes and group outings over a weekend. A whole program which should make many future members want to join the Saint-Céré athletics club.
