Loire-Atlantique elected official Andy Kerbrat was stopped on Friday by police officers in possession of a synthetic drug popular in the capital.
The facts date from last weekend. After police officers observed an exchange between two individuals on Friday evening in Paris “suggestive of a drug transaction” according to the Paris prosecutor’s office, then carried out the necessary checks, the 34-year-old buyer revealed his identity: it is Andy Kerbrat, LFI deputy for Loire-Atlantique. According to information from Current values confirmed at Figaro, he was in possession of 1.35g of 3-MMC, a synthetic drug popular in the capital.
On the seller, identified as a minor and already known for around ten facts, 1g of 3-MMC and a cash sum of 200 euros were also found. After his release, he was immediately placed in pre-trial detention pending a single hearing. As for the rebellious elected official, he was not taken into custody, but only heard the next day at the police station in a free hearing. However, the Paris prosecutor’s office announced this Monday, October 21, proceedings against him for use of narcotics and summoned him for notification of a criminal order. In a press release published on the night of Monday to Tuesday on his social networks, Andy Kerbrat said “take full responsibility (at) responsibility” et “puts himself at the disposal of justice”.
