Around 8 a.m. Thursday morning, Hydro-Québec reported that more than 19,400 of its subscribers were without electricity. More than 280 outages were recorded across the province.
With 5,100 customers affected, Outaouais was the most affected region. There were 4,300 subscribers affected in the Laurentians and 4,100 in Montérégie.

We are working to restore power as quickly as possible. We thank you for your patience and understanding
wrote the state-owned company in a message addressed to its customers.
The weather conditions of the last few days have made it favorable for the formation of thunderstorms, because the temperatures felt were above 30, with humidity, in several places on Wednesday.
Ontario also affected
Thunderstorms also hit Ontario, with Hydro One reporting that more than 8,000 of its customers did not have access to electricity early Thursday morning.
Our teams are working to respond as quickly and safely as possible to outages caused by the devastating storms that continue to affect parts of the province. Outages are largely caused by lines downed by trees or tree branches
said Hydro One.
The hardest hit regions in Ontario were the central and eastern parts of the province.
