The St. Vaneng Festival in Ham will take place from May 25 to 27

The sunny days are coming and the festivities in the cities and other neighborhoods are back. At Ham, the season has started. After the tenth anniversary of the intercommunal media library on Saturday May 25 with a piano concert on the water in particular, free, offered by the community of the Eastern Somme commune, it will be the turn of the traditional Saint -Vaneng which takes place every year in the city.

Why come and take a look? Here are some arguments…

1. Three days of celebrations during Saint-Vaneng’s Day

Saint-Vaneng, a traditional communal festival in the town of Ham (named after the town’s patron saint), takes place over three days. This year, it takes place from Saturday May 25 to Monday May 27 on the Place du Jeu de Paume in Ham.

2. Rides for three days

For young and old alike, rides and other fairground attractions will be set up at Place du Jeu de Paume during the three days of Saint-Vaneng. Between small and big sensations, why not try your luck at the different fairground games…

3. Wrestling matches on Sunday

This year, wrestling matches will liven up the party on Sunday, May 26 from 4 p.m. The ring will also be installed at the tennis court place. Six wrestlers from Paris will compete in show fights, under the responsibility of Flesh Gordon, in the presence of a professional referee and a presenter. The show should last between 1.5 and 2 hours.

4. The traditional cycle race on Monday

Who says Saint-Vaneng, says Grand Prix de Ham! This is the traditional annual Hamois cycling race. It will take place on Monday May 27 from 6 p.m. in the town center of Ham, which will be closed to traffic for the occasion. Runners, registered via their respective club, will have to complete 55 laps of 1.8km.

5. Catering to merchants

As for catering, no offer on site, the city wishes to have local merchants operate throughout the local festival. A great reason to come and have fun at the party while enjoying the terraces…

6. Free entertainment

The activities are all free, apart from the rides and other fairground games. However, the town of Ham is offering free ride tickets to all children attending the town’s schools to enjoy the attractions on Monday, May 27 after school. “Tickets will be distributed in schools” we specify at the town hall.
