Nine soldiers were slightly injured in an accident involving an armored personnel carrier on Thursday at the parade ground in Walenstadt (SG). Military justice has opened an investigation.
The armored vehicle rolled onto its side while moving to the parade ground. Nine soldiers from the 11 Infantry Recruit School were slightly injured, the Defense Group said in a statement on Thursday.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash, which occurred before noon. The nine soldiers received medical treatment on site before being transported to nearby hospitals. They have all already been able to leave the hospital. The soldiers concerned were completing their 16th week of recruit school.
