Météo has placed Haute- on orange alert this Thursday at 4 p.m. Since then, rain has continued to fall in the department, causing slips and falling trees on the roads.

Throughout the day, accidents increased on the roads of Haute-Vienne. At least six material accidents have been recorded on the A20 motorway. No serious injuries were reported, but traffic was severely disrupted.

Police and firefighters also received numerous calls for falling trees on secondary roads. On certain axes, water has accumulated.

At 5 p.m., we recorded 40 mm in Eymoutiers, 35 mm in Châlus, 30 mm in , 28 mm in Veyrac and a little more than 30 mm in La Jonchère-Saint-Maurice.

The Haute-Vienne prefecture calls for respecting safety instructions

– Move away from watercourses and low points;

– Avoid travel if possible. – Do not drive onto a submerged road, even partially;

– Keep your belongings out of water and locate your emergency kit;
