The weather this Pentecost Monday is contrasted. The sun is nice this morning over most of the island. In the afternoon, showers are forecast in the South Sauvage and South-West regions.

From 7 p.m., the sectors from Pointe des Aigrettes to Pointe de la Table, via Saint Pierre are on yellow wave-submersion alert. The West is on yellow alert for strong winds.

  • The West and East of the island are on yellow alert for strong winds at 7 p.m.
  • The South, South-West and West zones are on yellow wave-submersion alert at 7 p.m.

These vigilances are in effect from 7 p.m., this Monday, May 20, until 4 p.m., Tuesday, May 21.

Wind gusts of around 70 km/h, even 80 km/h are expected in the western regions.

The sea is rough from Pointe des Aigrettes to Pointe de la Table, with a swell of around 2.50 meters. This swell will increase to reach 3 to 3.50 meters in the evening.

The eastern regions will be on yellow alert for strong winds from tomorrow, Tuesday, at 10 a.m.

Ialy decreased in intensity and was downgraded to the moderate tropical storm stage. At 4 a.m. this Monday, May 20, it was located approximately 350km northwest of Aldabra in the Seychelles. Ialy is expected to weaken and dissipate this Wednesday. The storm poses no threat to inhabited lands.

A low pressure system is currently present over the South-West Indian Ocean.

A suspicious area is also present, there is a risk of the formation of another moderate tropical storm over the next 5 days, specifies Météo France.
