“The first flood alerts began around 6 p.m., so we anticipated, as best we could, we called back a whole series of men, since we started to have more than occasional problems, but in places well defined, we know our weak points in the event of flooding, so we had to block streets, we had to evacuate two restaurants in the Julienne valley. Flood alert thresholds crossed on the Berwinne

People were rescued on the roof of their homes, others confined to their homes on the 1st floor. Numerous evacuations were carried out. In total, the Verviers firefighters alone intervened more than 330 times.

More than 350 requests for intervention in the east of the province

Firefighters in the Vesdre, Hoëgne and Plateau area have received more than 350 requests for intervention, mainly from the municipalities of Trooz, Soumagne, Blégny and especially Dalhem, they communicated during the night from Friday to Saturday.
