The 43rd Telephone Legal Clinic of the Young Bar of Montreal will allow the entire population to obtain free legal advice from lawyers and notaries in matters of work, housing, family, immigration and other areas of law on Saturday the 19th and Sunday October 20 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

For the occasion, it will be possible to contact notaries and lawyers at 1 (844) 779-6232.

This annual activity aims to promote access to justice and guide people through sometimes complex procedures.

For the Young Bar of Montreal, this initiative is part of a series of services put in place to meet the growing needs of the population in legal matters, in partnership with the Barreau du Québec, the Center for Access to Information legal and the Young Bar of Quebec, the Young Bar of and the Canadian Association of Paralegals.

Volunteer lawyers will use their expertise to respond to citizens’ concerns and will offer answers and guidance adapted to each situation.

Last year, nearly 1,200 people took advantage of the opportunity to speak with a recognized specialist to guide them on the most effective ways to initiate an appeal or negotiation.

“We are delighted to continue this mission that is close to our hearts: bringing the law closer to citizens, in a context where understanding rights and obligations is essential to daily life,” indicates the president of the JBM, Me Marie Flambard. At each edition, the high participation rate demonstrates the need and importance of this service in Quebec society. »
