In order to fully enjoy the Olympic, Paralympic and sporting experience near you, an interactive map of sporting events around the Games and the Great National Cause throughout France has been put in place. The Ministry of Sports and the Olympic and Paralympic Games has dedicated 6.5 million euros to financing sports events throughout France. And, so that everyone can discover the scheduled events and festivities, the ministry launched, Monday May 6, an interactive map of the range of activities around sport and the Games, which will punctuate the daily lives of French people. throughout the country until September.

The combination in 2024 of the Games and the Great National Cause represents a unique opportunity to provide everyone with a great summer of sport. “These Games, which are the most decentralized in history with events in 73 host communities and a torch relay crossing 450 cities in France, are truly the Games for all French people. We are also proud to present today all the events and territorial activations which will allow us to amplify this promise. And, during each day that brings us closer to the opening ceremony and beyond, to bring to life both the Olympic and Paralympic magic and the values ​​of sport throughout our country. Accessible online on the sports.gouv.fr website, this map allows everyone to find events organized near them in order to live the unique experience of the Games and the Great National Cause in the heart of the territories. This tool, intended to be easy to use, allows better readability of the offer of activities around the Games and sport, and facilitates access to this rich and diversified programming.

The map of “celebrating territories” lists the following measures, supported by the State and its partners. All the sporting activities planned to promote the Games in the territories, the events labeled Great National Cause 2024, the different stages of the torch relay, organized by Paris 2024 in conjunction with communities and State services, the events of the Cultural Olympiad, organized by Paris 2024 and the Ministry of Culture and the 2024 Clubs (from June), celebration zones set up throughout the territory by Paris 2024 from June, in connection with communities. Finally, the summer holidays will not be left out with the deployment of the “Olympic and Paralympic holidays”, announced by the President of the Republic on July 25, 2023.

“The State will mobilize alongside local authorities and operators in order to put in place an educational and leisure offer around sport for young people and their families, and addressed in particular to the priority districts of the city (QPV) , especially those located near competition venues. In order to make the Games an exceptional moment and to promote the values ​​of Olympism and sport to young people in all territories, several existing schemes and calls for projects will thus primarily finance actions promoting the practice of sport”, as specifies the ministry press release.

At SQY, which has four future Olympic sites, the activities listed on this map are legion. We can cite the Great hike to Paris, the Jeu, set et job event, which will combine tennis and job dating on June 4 in Trappes, or the JOP Tour, which stopped in several towns in the region and will end in Guyancourt on July 24.
