This Monday, May 13, 2024, the gendarmerie reported the worrying disappearance, since Sunday, May 12, 2024, around 11 a.m., of an 83-year-old woman from Saint-Marcel (Morbihan). The octogenarian was found dead early this Monday afternoon.

This person affected by Alzheimer’s disease was actively sought by the gendarmerie and the town hall. A helicopter flew over the town and a dog team was also called upon to find this woman. Monday morning, around 11 a.m., a search was set up by the town hall of Saint-Marcel, in conjunction with the gendarmerie, to complete the search system.

Volunteers participated in the research

Representatives of the French Rescue and First Aid Federation, based in Vannes, members of the Malestroit Municipal Civil Security Reserve and around fifty volunteers came to contribute to the gendarmerie for the search.

I am very touched by the strong mobilization of people as well as the aid proposals from neighboring municipalities shared Armelle Robert, mayor of Saint-Marcel.
