Isère: a woman found dead at the foot of a cliff several hundred meters high

A 36-year-old woman was found dead during the night from Saturday to Sunday by emergency services at the foot of the Saint-Eynard cliffs.

Her companion, not seeing her return from a hike, had raised the alarm.

An investigation was opened by the Grenoble public prosecutor’s office.

Circumstances to be clarified. Since Sunday, investigations have been carried out to try to understand how a 36-year-old woman fell from the cliffs of Saint-Eynard in the Chartreuse massif on Saturday evening. This thirty-year-old from the Lyon region had come to spend a few days of vacation with her partner in this region of Isère. Saturday evening, she told him that she was going for a walk in the Fort Saint-Eynard area and left their accommodation in Sappey-en-Chartreuse around 5 p.m.

Worried about not seeing her return and not being able to contact her, her companion, with whom she was to have dinner, called emergency services, TF1info learned from the Grenoble public prosecutor, Eric Vaillant, confirming information from the Dauphiné Libéré.

An important device

As soon as the alert was received, a major device was deployed in the area concerned, including a Civil Security helicopter with a team from the CRS Alpes on board.

A few hours later, at two in the morning, the police managed to locate the thirty-year-old at the foot of the cliffs. She was lying on the ground, lifeless. He was pronounced dead shortly after.
