Indre: new mobilization in Bélâbre against the reception center for migrants

On Saturday May 11, around a hundred opponents of the CADA project (reception center for asylum seekers) in the town of Belâbre in Indre demonstrated in front of the village church. These demonstrators denounce a project unsuitable for the size of the rural commune (less than 1000 inhabitants), but also a fear for their safety. They particularly referred to the stabbing death of young Matisse, 15 days ago in the neighboring town of Châteauroux, by a minor of Afghan nationality.

During this demonstration, lawyer Pierre Gentillet spoke, deploring “ people who come ” and which ” we cannot control the profile “.

Near this gathering, a few dozen activists had organized a counter-demonstration with the slogan “ against racism and fascism, our weapon and solidarity “. The mayor of the town, for his part, denounces a recovery and says to himself “ horrified » to see banners with the slogan “ Justice for Matisse “. For the councilor, “ anyway, CADA is no longer the subject. The building is sold, the work will begin, we are firm and determined “,
