Météo France places Aisne, Marne and Ardennes on yellow alert this Sunday

The weather is good, the sky is blue but it will soon be over. If this Sunday morning remains sunny, storms will return during the day. Météo France has placed Aisne, Marne and Ardennes on yellow alert this afternoon.

Vigilance will begin at 1 p.m. in Marne, 3 p.m. in Aisne and 4 p.m. in the Ardennes. It will end at 10 p.m. in Aisne, but will continue until 6 a.m. Monday May 13 morning in the Ardennes and the Marne.

The storms will be accompanied by wind gusts of up to 70km/h in Reims, Laon, Soissons and Charleville-Mézières.

“Storms sometimes heavily rainy”

At the national level, 64 departments are placed on yellow alert for thunderstorms this Sunday, May 12. The meteorological institute announces “ sometimes heavily rainy storms from Normandy to Île-de-France, as well as from Champagne to Burgundy and Auvergne.”

“An evolution towards the orange level of vigilance is still not envisaged today”, specifies the latest bulletin. Météo France regularly updates its vigilance maps at 6 a.m., noon, 4 p.m. and midnight.
