Who could have imagined that the farmhouse of this peaceful village from Seine-et-Marne housed a large-scale cannabis cultivation ? Following a anonymous informationdiscreet surveillance has been set up in recent days by investigators from the local judicial police service of Melun Val de Seine, around a building located in Maincy.

84 cannabis plants discovered in a farmhouse in Maincy

This Monday, May 6, 2024, a police operation was carried out, allowing the discovery of significant cannabis cultivation. In fact, some 84 plants of cannabis were discovered there. “After harvest, this corresponds to 21 kilos of cannabis herb, when the wholesale price is estimated at €6,000 per kilo,” underlines a Source close to the matter.

At retail, the quantity could have been sold for an amount of around €210,000, according to the police. A 42-year-old man was arrested on site. According to investigators, he is the originator of this culture. Another forty-year-old was arrested a few hours later, in Clamart (Hauts-de-Seine).

The latter would have signed a lease under a false identity, but was still able to be identified… According to a police Source, the two men would have minimized the facts, but the trafficking would have been in place for several months. The two individuals were brought before the Melun public prosecutor’s office this Friday, May 10, 2024, and were presented before the Melun criminal court.

Deposit warrant and electronic bracelet

As part of an immediate appearance, the first accused, suspected of having set up the cultivation, received a sentence of one year in prison, accompanied by a committal warrant. The second individual was partially acquitted: only the complicity of having provided the accommodation was retained. He was sentenced to six months in prison, equipped with the wearing of an electronic bracelet.

In mid-April, a Seine-et-Marnais man was arrested on his return from a trip to the Netherlands. In his car, the police had found cannabis and cocaine. At his home, in a small village near Provins, they also discovered cannabis growing.
