Olympic flame in Haute-Garonne: watch out for restrictions!

The Olympic flame is preparing to cross Haute-Garonne on May 17, 2024. Significant traffic and parking disruptions are expected in the many towns where it will stop.

If the traditional Olympic flame is about to parade throughout Haute-Garonne on Friday May 17 Next, it is important to note that numerous traffic and parking disruptions are to be expected in the seven municipalities concerned. In fact, it will cross the towns of Revel between 9 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. to join Villemur-sur-Tarn between 9:55 a.m. and 10:15 a.m., Wall from 11:45 a.m. to 12:20 p.m., Rieux-Volvestre between 12:50 p.m. and 1:20 p.m., then Colomiers between 2:50 p.m. and 3:55 p.m., then Bagnères-de-Luchon from 5 p.m. to 5:20 p.m. and finally she will end her journey at Toulouse with a big parade between 5:30 p.m. and 7:20 p.m. This wandering can then prove to be a real headache for motorists.

Restrictions in Toulouse and other municipalities

In Toulouse, the flame will start from the Place Interne de Saint-Cyprien and cross the city center to reach the Ernest Wallon stadium. Parking from Thursday May 16 at 4 p.m. and until Friday May 17 at 8 p.m. and circulation between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. on May 17 will be prohibited on the following routes:

Thus, all vehicles which are parked on these roads during the ban period will be subject to a removal by the pound and a fine. Please also note that the Vélo Toulouse stations located near or on the parade route will be inaccessible on Friday May 17 between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. and the pick-up and drop-off of taxis will be prohibited. Similar measures will also be put in place in the six other municipalities concerned and can be consulted on the State services website.
