A Sûreté du Québec police officer allegedly committed an indecent action during a cheerleading competition last January.

Martin Bellavance was arrested by the Quebec City Police Service (SPVQ) Thursday morning, pursuant to an arrest warrant.

The 51-year-old man, resident of L’Ancienne-Lorette, would have attended a regional championship at the Quebec City Convention Center, where he would have been seen under the spectator stands.

A witness captured a video of the suspect as he puts his mouth close to a spectator’s boot to lick it. Radio-Canada was able to view a video where the suspect is actually under the stands. The individual then brings his face closer to the boot on his right to place his tongue and mouth there.

The individual subsequently left the scene, but the video would have made it possible to identify Martin Bellavance.

Spectators subsequently contacted the SPVQ to denounce the individual who had fled.
