Île-aux-Moines

Île-aux-Moines is the largest of the islands in the Gulf of Morbihan. With its 23 km of coastal paths, its particularly rich and diverse vegetation and its fisherman’s houses, it leaves no one indifferent to its charm.

To get there from the Vannes ferry terminal, with the Compagnie du Golfe, a crossing in 45 minutes is possible, with a departure in the morning and a return in the evening. From Port-Blanc in Baden, the crossing with the Izenah Company takes five minutes and will take you to the port of Lério, located in the northwest of the island. A passage is made every half hour from 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. (first boat at 8 a.m. on Sundays and public holidays). From July 1 to August 31, rotations are more frequent and the last boat is at 10 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the Port-Blanc ferry terminal or on the boat (off-season only).

    The island of Arz

The island of Arz, nicknamed “Captains’ Island”, is 4 km long and 3 km wide. The 17 km coastal path offers lovely views of the other islands in the Gulf of Morbihan.

All year round, the Bateaux-Bus du Golfe company provides several daily rotations departing from the Vannes ferry terminal and the Séné slipway. Allow 20 to 30 minutes of crossing before disembarking at the northern tip of the island of Arz.

    Gavrinis Island

Located at the entrance to the Gulf of Morbihan, not far from the mouth, Gavrinis is one of the four islands of Larmor-Baden. The southern part is home to the mysterious cairn.

To reach the island of Gavrinis and visit its cairn, take a speedboat from the port of Lamor-Baden. The crossing lasts around fifteen minutes. A guide then accompanies you from the Gavrinis slipway to the megalithic site for a guided tour of one and a half hours. From July 6 to September 1, a cruise tour will be provided from Vannes. Other departures are also offered from Port-Navalo and Locmariaquer depending on the season.

    Berder Island

Berder, the island accessible on foot! The small island of Berder is connected to Lamor-Baden by an 80-meter submersible causeway which is exposed at low tide. To get there, plan your excursion according to the tide times. Allow around an hour to go around the 2.5 km coastal path. However, it is impossible to venture into the heart of the 23 hectares of the island, because only the coastal path is public.

    Ilur

Located in the south of the island of Arz, Ilur covers 40 hectares. It is managed by the Gulf of Morbihan Regional Natural Park and only the trails in the heart of the island are authorized for the public, in order to preserve the biodiversity of this protected natural site. To take advantage of this wonder, you will have to make do on your own. No shuttle will take you there. Everyone is free to find a way to dock there, whether with a private boat, a rental boat or a sea kayak.

    Tascon Island

Located on the Rhuys peninsula, Tascon is the third largest island in the Gulf of Morbihan. With its 55 hectares, the island connected to the town of Saint-Armel remains one of the last islands in the Gulf to be cultivated by a couple of farmers. To enjoy the thousands of birds that populate its cove, you will have to take a submersible route on foot, by bike or by car.
