Against the backdrop of recent developments regarding resettlement sites, a series of revelations have emerged, shedding light on several previously little-known sites. These sites, presented as new cities, have a complex history and significant implications for many people.

Relocation 1: This site, initially subdivided by Abdoulaye Wade in 2012, was distributed by Mohamed Sidy Diakhaté in 2013. It served as a first point of resettlement for many people in need.

Tobago City : Recognized for having hosted 336 victims, the Tobago city is another crucial site in the history of resettlement. It is here that Macky Sall orchestrated the resettlement of a large number of displaced people.

IPRESS land: This site, previously owned by Socabeg, was sold to IPRESS, with the aim of building the Renaissance monument and the Mbackiou Faye project. IPRESS then entrusted the site to Socabeg, a company renowned for its seriousness in the field.

CDC and CGIS: The CDC sold land on this site, bringing in more than 73 billion CFA francs to the State of Senegal. It should be noted that several religious figures, including the 9 General Caliphs of Touba and certain Caliphs of Tivaouane, as well as other dignitaries, benefited from these lands located behind the BOA.

These revelations raise concerns about how these sites were managed and distributed, as well as the fate of the people who benefited from them. Many victims of Tobago city find themselves today without the means to rebuild, having been forced to resell their land.

These developments highlight the importance of a thorough investigation to ensure transparency and justice in the resettlement and land management process.

It seems that the site in question has been beneficial for a wide range of beneficiaries, whether they are social cases, emigrants, political or religious figures or those linked to public services. With the presence of the new Almadies prefecture, hospitals, DSCOs headquarters, schools and other infrastructure, it is clear that this project has had a significant impact on the region for more than seven years. The diversity of beneficiaries underlines the importance of this project for various sectors of Senegalese society. Although there were cases of personal enrichment, many beneficiaries purchased their land from or were compensated by the state, as in the case of Tobago.
