Cirque du Soleil has erected its big top in the Old Port of Montreal

It is a moment that always announces the imminent arrival of summer. More than a hundred technicians and workers got to work Thursday morning to erect the Cirque du Soleil Big Top in the Old Port of Montreal.

The show Kurios – Cabinet of Curiositiesmakes its return to the metropolis, after having been presented as a world premiere in 2014. Directed by Michel Laprise, this production has been seen by more than five million spectators around the world and features 50 artists.

Workers are busy setting up the Cirque du Soleil marquee, in the Old Port of Montreal, for the Kurios show, which will be presented throughout the summer of 2024.

With a capacity of 2,500 people, the marquee takes eight days to erect. It stands 62 feet tall and 168 feet in diameter.

Kurios – Cabinet of curiosities will be presented on May 23. Additional ones have been announced until August 25.
