Friday May 3, 2024, was held in Chambray-lès-Tours in the premises of the Chamber of Agriculture, the general assembly of the Departmental Association of Retired Farmers of Indre-et-Loire (Adar) chaired by Jean -Pierre Fétiveau. Also present were Rural Coordination 37, Régis Flau, president of Adra 79, the Mutualité sociale agricole represented by Régis Joubert and senator Vincent Louault, former mayor of Cigogné and also a former farmer.
The motions adopted call for more social justice to allow retirees to live with dignity. The following are therefore requested: parity of pensions for farm managers and their spouses at 85% of the minimum wage, the elimination of capping (a system of capping pensions), the increase in the ceiling of the survivor’s pension for widows, the revision of the calculation of the “child bonus”, the indexation of pensions in order to maintain purchasing power, the restoration of the half share for widows and widowers, the extension of the 5e branch of Social Security concerning dependency and loss of autonomy.
The attractiveness of the profession at stake
Vincent Louault regrets that the legislative reforms are only a pile of laws and are not global and considers gender discrimination such as that on agricultural pensions to be ubiquitous and unworthy of France.
Jean-Pierre Fétiveau will conclude the meeting with these words: “Beyond the sole aspect of agricultural retirement, it is also that of the credibility and attractiveness of agricultural professions which are at stake. It is essential not to discourage vocations to be a farmer. The quality of life of our country depends on it! »
The national congress of Anraf, the National Association of Agricultural Retirees of France, will be held on June 7, carpooling will be set up for those wishing to go there.
